The Sharks hammered out 9 hits and each of the 9 players crossed the plate for runs. To open the tourney, Aransas Pass took advantage of the Sharks ability to convert scoring opportunities to sneak a 7-6 win. In the fifth inning, Palacios had the bases loaded with one out when Anthony Garcia hit into a double play to end the inning and stall the Sharks’ rally. Palacios faced off with Skidmore-Tynan and were handed a 10-7 loss. The Sharks were their own worst enemy as past balls coupled with costly, crucial time errors lead to their downfall. “We didn’t get the results we wanted in the tournament, but we got much needed improvement on defense and pitching,” said Gibson. After tourney action the Sharks post a 2-5 record on the season. Palacios was to play on Tuesday (March 16) in Stafford and then travel Tidehaven on Friday (March 19). |
