I would like to thank the kind people that have sent their condolensces to my family. Even though we weren't able to say much we appreciate them deeply. And if you feel like talking don't hesitate to email me. Its sad to think my tag team partner is gone, but I smile when I think of all the memories we have had. Andrew was a one of a kind guy, and he let you know that as soon as you met him. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone and I don't know anyone who had a bad thing to say about him. It is true he did not deserve to die so young, I mean it saddens me to know that I won't see him clowning around again. Nice to see you online. CLaudette did some damage to Palacios and Collegeport. She did Palacios a big favor cause now Palacios looks so nice and clean.
In Collegeport took several barns that belonged to farmers. Remember my garage well its totally gone. Ty, no more trampoline to lie on and see snakes up in the tree. I had some damage to the inside wall of one room. We have everything fixed and back together. We have to build a barn now.

I just wanted to send my respects and deepest sympathy to the Perez and Mahoney family. Both Andrew and Cody were amazing individuals that always managed to make a room light up instantly.
Tiffany, my prayers are w/ you and your family. I still remember when we were little and I used to go to your house and we jumped on the trampoline. I still remember how Cody was back then and I will never forget his little smirk whenever he entered the art room my senior year.
Chris, my prayers are also w/ you and your family. Everybody knows that Andrew was defintely a one of a kind person and he will be greatly missed. I know I will never forget the way he was able to make his original facial expressions and the great time we all had when we went to Choir Camp.

I would like a copy of the story done on "Spoof" - the little boat that used to sit in the Palacios Marina so many years ago. I believe the story was written in the early 90's and was in your lifestyles section. I am the former wife of Chris Carr, son of Toney and Joyce Carr - who were the owners of the marina then. Well everyone it's true, my little baby brother of just 17yrs. is gone, he passed away August 8,03. I am Rev.Donald Mills, and I resided in Palacios during the time of hurricane carla (1962).I lived next door to the Polk, Roy,Washington, and Hurd family.I am originally from Mississippi.Palacios was a great place growing up there in my early childhood, I throughly enjoyed it I would not trade that experience for nothing on earth. I am now residing in Houston,Tx.

I along with 10 other men was transferred to Camp Hulen in early September, 1940 to activate the base. I was sent as a clerk typist from the 7th Signal Service Company, Ft. Sam Houston, Texas. I typed the orders activating Camp Bullis. The very first commanders name was King.. He was a West Point Major. The first units to arrive from the National Guard were the 197th Coast Artillery, from New Hampshire, the 203rd Coast Artillery from Missouri (known as the "hound dog regiment", the 69th Coast Artillery, from Galveston, Texas... The first Commanding General was General Allen. I remember such names as Major Van Fleet (sound familiar) Olin Teague, later a congressman from College Station, Texas, and head of veterans affairs

For those that have questions for the good people of Palacios,, their power is still out and should be restored some time between today (Thursday)and Saturday. This is probably why you haven’t received any responses on this website. No power = no computer = no Internet response. To give you a quick report, Claudette took a big dump on Palacios, knocked over about half the trees, half those trees landed on power lines, lots of shingles ripped from houses, trailers ripped apart, RVs flipped over, and the surge came a few blocks into town. Luckily nobody was hurt seriously. Hoped this helped.

I lived in Palacious in the late 70's. Went to K-2nd grade. I just found your site and it's really cool. I remember living near the Slaughter's on the bay and there were lots of cows around the house. Laura Isenberger was a classmate of mine.

Just wanted to give a big thank you to all persons who made it possible for Bianca to win this past Saturday at the Cinco de Mayo celebration. At the city council meeting, please consider the Dish-network, for T.V. service to Palacios. It offers channels that directv does not. E,W.T.N is one of those stations. Many N.B.C. stations,also. Cox internet in victoria offers our faverite ststion that direct does not offer.
